Role in the Story

Spoiler warning: Contains plot elements from multiple books in the series.

Warhost of Vastmark

Third Age 5647: The Khetienn is the sole brigantine built in the Merior shipyard after the fleet is destroyed by arson. It is launched shortly before Lysaer arrives in pursuit from Werpoint, and is towed to Southshire to be completed "on credit against a share of her first run's cargo"[1], thanks to a gambling debt owed to Dakar by an Innish captain. The twins use this opportunity to stow away. When Arithon reaches Innish, he arranges for a ship's crew to liberate the Khetienn from the Southshire rigger's yard. When Arithon transports the spoils of a summer's worth of livestock raids, the hold of the Khetienn is refitted with stalls. During the strike at Dier Kenton Vale, the Khetienn launches an attack on the fleets of Alestron, separating Mearn s'Brydion's flagship from the rest of the galleys.

Fugitive Prince

Third Age 5648: The Khetienn is Arithon's primary means of transportation over the next score of years. It leads multiple expeditions away from Paravia in search of the Paravians, stopping at irregular intervals to pick up supplies from the mainland.

Grand Conspiracy

Third Age 5654: After Arithon learns that Lysaer's plans have been defanged, he realizes that he now has the freedom to search for the Paravians unmolested. Over the coming twelve years, Arithon travels the seas in search of the Paravians.

Peril's Gate

Third Age 5670: When Arithon is visited by the ghost of his father in Kewar Tunnel, the sending occurs on the decks of the Khetienn, even though Avar s'Ffalenn was dead before it was ever built.
