Karthan is a land on the splinter world of Dascen Elur ruled by the s'Ffalenn family. It is described as a "sandspit of marauding pirates"[1], where seven generations of the feud with Amroth have destroyed the earth and forced its inhabitants to subsist through piracy. During engagements between the Karthish people and Amroth, seldom "if ever, had the men s'Ffalenn commanded surrendered their vessels with crewmen still alive to be captured"[2]. The people of Karthan are Karthish.
