Third Age 5670: After Arithon escapes from Daon Ramon Barrens, Hewall and another clansman escort him through the mountains. Hewall has a bout of prescience that suggests the trio will travel no farther that day. Shortly after, Arithon is summoned to aid Kharadmon. Hewall and the other clansman follow instructions to keep Arithon standing during the subsequent spellcraft. Arithon urges Hewall and the other clansman to press ahead as he mentally battles the pull of the curse in his overextended state. They are intercepted by Davien. Unable to heal the prince through his unconscious defenses, Davien enchants Hewall's water flask and asks the clansmen to offer it to Arithon when he awakens. He also reveals that Kewar Tunnel is the only place that might deter the Etarran army and offers his eagle as a guide to the location. After Arithon drinks the restorative draught, Hewall tells him about Kewar Tunnel and calls for the eagle to guide him the rest of the way. Hewall and the other clansman stay behind to set traps for Sulfin Evend's pursuing troops.
