The Athlien Paravians are one of the three Paravian races. They are also known as sunchildren, fair folk, or the small ones. They stand, pixielike, one span high and celebrated life's undying joy. Sunchildren possess great wisdom and are keepers of the grand mystery. Through oral tradition, dance, and flute music, they access memories of past events or erase the imprint of a horrific event from the surrounding environment.

Stormed Fortress

Third Age 5671: When Arithon enters the King's Glade in Selkwood, a sunchild, Tierendieriel Merevalia, answers his petition. With his consent, the sunchild and others of her kind cleanse the aura of the Mistwraith's curse.

Later, Seshkrozchiel suggests that a circle of Athlien dancers would be able to separate the spirits of five Korias horsemen from the weave of a dead drake's dreams in the Scarpdale grimward.

Initiate's Trial

Third Age 5923: High King Gestry wields his crown jewels on the battlefield in Scarpdale, summoning projections of all three Paravian races. This calling halts the fighting and renders many combatants senseless.

Destiny's Conflict

Third Age 5925: A sunchild tends to Arithon after a close encounter with a Riathan Paravian on Los Lier. After the Paravians agree to allow his departure from the island, Tierendieriel Merevalia speeds his journey away aboard the Talliarthe.
